After leaving Russia as a teenager, I now teach Russian language at Xavier's school. I am an amateur painter and am very interested in art. I am a great admirer of these books:
Walter Pater's Studies in the History of the Renaissance,
Writing on Art from The New Yorker,
Color and Meaning: Art, Science, and Symbolism,
The Penguin Book of Art Writing

I enjoy working on my art pieces, teaching, and spending time with my sister and my friends.
I often visit museums and like to discuss art at length. I do not get into political debates and am personally a pacifist in general.
I am a little interested in writing and of course enjoy many Russian ones, for example I am quite a fan of this poem by Akhmatova:

Grey-Eyed King (1910)


Hail to thee, o inconsolate pain!
The young grey-eyed king has been yesterday slain.

That autumn evening was stuffy and red.
My husband, returning, had quietly said,

"He'd left for his hunting; they carried him home;
They found him under the old oak's dome.

I pity his queen. He, so young, passed away!...
And overnight all her black hair turned grey."

He picked up his pipe from the fireplace shelf,
And went off to work in the night by himself.

So now my daughter I will wake and rise --
And I will look in her little grey eyes...

And murmuring poplars outside will be heard:

Yes I finally have made a journal. What the use of it is, I do not think I know. If I should like to speak with anyone I would go to them in particular. Anyway, if someone has resorted to this to contact me, then I might be at:
The rebels (the garden, the Friday movie night, the art rooms, the dining room at breakfast, St. John's room)
The mansion (my classroom, my room upstairs, Illyana's room, Bobby and John's room, the kitchen)

You can call my cell phone, leave a voice message (please do not text me as I cannot figure out how to use those), leave a note with Illyana, Bobby or Kitty, tape a note to my door, or talk to John (which should be a last resort as he is very busy.)

If you want to talk to me about inter-side relationships, tarot card readings, why you have not done your Russian language homework, St. John, modern gender construction, From Russia with Love, why I stopped being on the active X-men list, the Romanovs, magic, terrorism, or a social event I have to go to, please go find St. John and talk to him instead (he is often in Bobby's room or with Kitty in the kitchen.) He is very nice and would be happy to speak with you. Good luck.
